Glorious Opalized Wood gemstones from Indonesia, pretty in pink and beige, paired with 4mm Strawberry Quartz gemstones on the ear wires. Set in sterling silver. One stone cracked during the setting process, which I repaired using the ancient technique of Kintsugi, with pure 24k gold and jeweler's repair medium, for a truly unique pair of earrings.
Kintsugi (golden joinery) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Not only is there no attempt to hide the damage, but the repair is literally illuminated.
